Canon USA announced three new addition to their scanner product, the
CanoScan 5600F, CanoScan LiDE200 and CanoScan LiDE100. All these new scanners features Auto Scan Mode allowing the scanner to recognize the type of document when the new dedicated “SCAN” button is pressed, then scan and save the document with the suitable settings automatically and reduce scanning process time.
On the press release published by Canon,
“The introduction of the new CanoScan color image scanners further solidifies Canon’s commitment to providing leading-edge technology to consumers at an affordable price,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A. “With the emergence of scrapbooking and other forms of digital archiving, Canon scanners provide consumers with the comfort of knowing their scanned documents will be as good as the original.”
The CanoScan 5600F Color Image Scanner has ability to scan up to six frames of a 35mm filmstrip or four 35mm slides at a maximum optical resolution of 4800 x 9600 dots-per-inch (dpi). This also employs Quick and Automatic Retouching and Enhancement (QARE) Level 3 technology, which aids in automatic dust, scratch, fading and graininess reduction. It also has the capability to scan letter-sized color documents at a resolution of 300 dpi in approximately 11 seconds.
The CanoScan LiDE200 and LiDE100 Color Image Scanner has a maximum optical resolution of 4800 x 4800 dpi and 2400 x 4800 dpi respectively. Both of this printer is only powered by the USB 2.0 without an external power supply to operate the scanner. The documents can be scanned for CanoScan LiDE200 in approximately 14 seconds, while on the CanoScan LiDE100 the scan can be completed in approximately 24 seconds at a resolution of 300 dpi.
