Browsing the net through 3G internet enabled mobile phone makes life easy especially if you are traveling from within your country where bringing a laptop is not necessary besides being bulky. Mobile phone come into play to check those emails or have some access to sites you usually visits while not in-front of your loved computer.
While having that mobility and ease of use we still think of the cost involve during browsing on the net using your mobile phone. In my country - The Philippines-I was inclined to use Smart(network provider) Prepaid to use in my addiction to internet because of its fees that is much lower than the other network like Globe. They are charging Php 10.00 for every 30 minutes of surfing the web. That is about US$0.24 with the current rate (April 6, 2008). Other network previously is charging on per kilobyte rate which I think is expensive when you browse the internet using your mobile phone.
Now, got me thinking to try out again Globe due to its implementation of Time Browsing Rate that will only charge you Php 5.00 for 15 minutes of browsing. That is similar with Smart charging. This is also available to all prepaid network subscribers.
Seems Globe is entering into the competition mobile internet browsing with this implementation. I wonder what other network will do with this Globe move. Hope they will lower again surf charging with customer satisfaction and quality of service.
